Dolly tea parties, library pajama party!!

What a life we lead! We had so much fun this past week. On Monday we had our normal phonics lesson, which also includes a brief handwriting lesson. Then for math we made up a doll tea party, complete with dolly sized cookies. We made tiny snickerdoodles, and in honor of Winnie the Pooh day we made teddy bear cookies. I also surprised the girls with doggy shaped cookies. They made magical "pink" tea to drink. The dolls (and girls) had a blast!! It's a good opportunity to learn some tea party ettiquete. The girls did all the measuring, mixing and balling, rolling etc.

On Friday night was our library's pajama party. The little girls thought it was so cool to go somewhere with pajamas on!! There were games stories, treats, games, more stories and prizes!!!

What fun it is to have young ones!!!

Well we have another birthday coming up a week from tuesday. Can any of you guess who's it is ? How old will she be? To help you here is a picture of our family.
This past week we had a nice busy week. Savannah had her 9 month check up. She weighs in at 20 lbs. 4 oz. exactly 12 lbs heavier than the day she was born. She is 28 and a half inches long! After our visit with the pediatrician we went to Walmart and had a small list to take care of. Our Jessica was with us as well, and was that ever nice! after our shopping we went on to the Burger King with the play place, and got some of our winter energy out. We then came home. Tuesday it was back to school for all the children. We had school in the dining room instead of the schoolroom as I didn't feel like turning up the furnace just to do a little bit of school. Wed. we went to story hour, it's theme was Winnie the Pooh! One of my favorites!! Thursday we went to Pizza hut with Jess, and Em. Olivia and Abigail had book-it coupons to redeem which gets them a free personal pan pizza! After our lunch we stopped at the Good will. Perfect timing they had all kids clothes 50% off!! I was able to pick up a few things for the younger children. Friday it was school day again, and laundry catchup as well. So now that brings us to today. Well any of you from around here know full well how bitter cold it is, and with a van that doesn't get good heat I am staying put today. I don't really like to go shopping on Saturday anyways, too many people! Sounds like tomorrow is going to be even colder. I will be shivering all the way to church Im sure!! Even though it's cold outside we can really appreciate the sunshine! Makes me feel good, and really it's not THAT cold. We should be used to it right!LOL
I hope you all have a lovely afternoon and evening!

Flu, losing teeth, sewing projects

I was a bit relieved to get the holidays over to get back to a normal routine. But this was not to be. Little Savannah got sick with the flu. It was complete with croup, fever, vomitting etc. However she never lost her appetite! She is feeling much better now. She has 4 teeth now, yes mom 4....we discovered another one this afternoon. Olivia lost a tooth this past week. She is losing the one Savannah is getting. lol! Abby will also join the lost tooth club too, as she has a couple loose ones on the bottom.
We haven't done much this week, with sickness in the house. We didn't even go to the library. Good thing Emmy works there so she can return my books that are due.
For a sewing project I am working on a dress for me. A jumper, and for Olivia and Abby a nice pinafore jumper with collar ( which gives it a dressed up look) and matching bloomers. I'd like to have more time to sew, but its just not the season. I also bought two pieces from joanns online. They are from the batik collection, so they have a tie-dye look. I will make myself a couple of long flowy skirts for warmer weather. I was going through some patterns today and found a couple of children's dress patterns that I think I will use the skirt part to show Olivia how to sew. She is just itching to learn. Bless her heart.
We have a busy week coming up, starting tomorrow with a doctors appt. for babys 9 month well baby check. I'm not sure what we will do afterwards, guess it depends on how the morning goes.

Hope you all have a pleasant week!
