Baby Eva comes to visit!

Wednesday was Travis' birthday, and his dad takes him out to lunch to celebrate. So we got to watch Eva here. They brought her around noon. We had so much fun passing her around. I haven't seen her since Christmas! She has changed so much since then!

She was so good for us. The only thing was the older girls went to prayer meeting and when it was Savannah's bedtime she was tired of sharing mommy with Eva. Fortunately Jess and Em got home soon after.

Miss Lily is 5!!

Today, is the 5th anniversary of sweet Lily's birth. She has seen many milestones this year. Learning her letters and numbers, not needing pull-ups at night, her first stitches! Indeed she is a big girl. Grandpa came by and brought her birthday present. It was a lightning McQueen blanket, and bowl and plate set. She is wrapped in the blanket now as we speak, and she had some sliced up bananas in her bowl. Happy Birthday sweet Lily! We love you!

More winter fun only of the indoor variety!

This past week we had some fun inside. First we made pomanders. Savannah made an apple on. She did a great job poking the cloves into the apple and then covering it with cinnamon mixture. Olivia did a lime, she had to use a push pin to make the holes first as the skin was too tough. Lily did an orange and Abby did a lemon. They smell wonderful, but now are starting to look a little shriveled :-). We then tied them and made a loop so we could hang them up around the house.
Yesterday we went to Discovery Center Museum again. I was a nice winter diversion. They have free admission on Thursday afternoons between 1-5 pm. It was so nice for them.
Wed. we ran errands and went to the library story hour. These days just Lily and Savannah attend, but Olivia still likes to do the craft. Since the librarians don't seem to mind an 8 yr old in the preschool class I don't mind either. They made sleds out of meat trays. So creative! Tonight we have a church fellowship, and we are all looking forward to going to this.
Sounds like the cold will soon be upon again this weekend so everybody bundle up and snuggle in.
until another time!

Winter fun

Lots of fun here at our house lately! Monday we went ice skating. It was the little ones first time on skates. They did great! There were a few falls (including one for me) but no tears or anything life threatening! LOL!
A couple days later we made marshmallow snowmen. We melted white chocolate, then put 3 jet-puffed marshmallows on wooden skewers and dipped them in the chocolate. After the chocolate cools and hardens we used gel frosting to put on faces. That then became our afternoon snack.
Today we made snowscenes. We cut out circles from cardboard, and then mixed up Ivory Snow with some water and pour it on our cardboard by spoonfuls. We then pressed pinecones, acorns, small pine branches, and driftwood sticks and shells into the wet soap mixture. After they were arranged to satisfaction we made little tiny beeswax birds to mount on our stick. Now they are drying on my dining room table. After craft time the children all bundled up and went outside to sled on our big snowmound. I didnt take pictures of that though as I stayed inside and cleaned up the living room.:-)Until another time!!
