My peaceful existance

I trust everyone had a lovely time with family on Thanksgiving. We had a nice houseful. My younger brother and his wife and stepdaughter came, which we were glad he was able to make it. My oldest brother and my dad, not to mention my own brood. We were packed into this small house, but the warmth and joy of being together far outweighed any cramped feeling.

On Tuesday my youngest daughter Mercy who has cerebral palsy due to a birth injury, had an appointment with her neurologist for a round of botox (she gets this every 3 months). He also gave us the results of her MRI she had the week before. Given the results I almost wished we didn't have it done. She has extensive brain damage, and will most likely not recover much more. Of course only God is in control of that, not the doctor! On a good note she also saw the GI aka her feeding tube doctor. He is completely happy with her weight, growth, and oral skills, and said we don't need him anymore!! So he sent us on our way and told us to call him if we have an issue. Please continue to pray for us as we search out doctors, therapists, etc. for our Mercy-girl.

We will be continuing our Thanksgiving homeschool unit next week. It has been a wonderful-fun time. We are beginning to plan Christmas school, and have had a fabulous time planning baking and menus and such. Christmas-school begins December 1st and goes through to Epiphany on Jan. 6th. It's a time we really look forward to.

We made several stockings last week to be filled with toiletries for the soldiers. It is a tremendous need, but had to follow a protocol as only certain things are truly needed. Service projects are so heathly and fun for children. We do several each year.

We are also planning our annual Christmas carolling at our local nursing home. We usually make ornaments (one for each resident) and cards. We also sing several carols . It is as mush a blessing to us as it is for the residents, perhaps more.

I pray your week is especially blessed!

I love your 'Thanksgiving school' and 'Christmas school' idea :) Sounds like a lot of fun :) I'll keep Mercy in my prayers♥ "...by His stripes we are healed."
