Award!

The 4-H club that my girls are a part of and all my girls have been a part of at some time or another was awarded and award for their hard work making and stuffing, and sending Christmas stockings to the service men overseas. They are small in numbers but they are mighty in their work!!
In other news, my Mercy is needing some new equipment. We had her measured for something called a "bee" chair. It's a positional chair as she is growing out of her high chair. We are also getting a new special needs carseat for her as well. We are also ordering her a couple accessories for her too cool push chair that she got when she was a year old. I am finding that now that she loves going outside she needs the canopy for the top, and since she constantly raised her hips because of her muscle tone she needs to have the hip abductor added. I have all the paperwork from the doctor, and a prescription for these items. Yes, we need to have a script for this stuff from a doctor, for those who do not have a child with special needs. In fact while I'm on this "special needs" subject. I want to share that term does not mean ALL INCLUSIVE of anyone with a handicap. Many of the "special need" free programs we are invited to are not for children in wheelchairs, nor are they adapted to them in any way. Special needs is a political term for those bleeding hearts that think we can include everyone into every situations. Which is NOT the way it works when someone is disabled, in fact to go into something "special need" sponsored thinking that its all inclusive is setting  yourself up for disappointment. My Mercy is Special special needs, and that leaves her out of a lot of activities. We choose to do things as a family that do include Mercy and we adapt to her need, as do all the people we know, and get together with. Special needs is mental impairment only term not disabled in body. Mercy was very suspicious of the orthopedic when we went to the clinic in Rockford. She was quite nervous as well.
This was as close to a smile as I could get! She literally breathed a sigh of relief when we were leaving.

These are Mercy's new purple splints. She's actually had for several months, but Im posting them for the first time. Here she is relaxing after just arriving home from church.
Since Mercy loves being outdoors, we are back to going for walks, nature walks and lots of play. It feels wonderful!!
We are thankful to the Lord for His provisions on our family, and love and light and warmth of home!!
Until another time........
