Apple Orchard fun!

Hello all! I cannot believe it has been a month now since I have updated my blog! Shameful!

The month of September has whooshed by us so fast. We canned 45 qts of pears last Monday. I still have a few more to do this coming weeks but not nearly as many.

Our sweet Olivia learned to ride on two wheels a few weeks ago. I got out the big girl bike and she tried it in the back yard, but for lack of space we went to the driveway. She got going and picked up speed and so I let go. Then she looked and realized that I wasn't holding on to her anymore and she exclaimed, "I riding myself!, Im doing it!!" LOL! She has been speeding around the place ever since.

Last Saturday evening, our little Lily was rushed to the immediate care, with a bleeding cut just above her left eye. Jess, had tossed a fisher price little people barn sylo across the room into the toybox and Lily jumped into the line of fire. The older girls brought a crying and bleeding Lily to me and I took her in. She received 4 lovely blue stitches which were removed this past Thursday.

On Friday (the 26th) we went to the Royal Oak apple orchard. It is always a fun time for us and we greatly look forward to our visit there. We have not been there since Sept. of 06 so this was first time visit for little Savannah. Of course we went on the hayride to pick apples. They allow you to pick 5 apples each. So of course we end up with a nice amount of apples with the size of our family. This year they let us pick the golden delicious! woohoo! I love this kind of apple. I think it is the best for fresh eating, not really the kind to bake with. (hint, hint grandma....going to Apple Hut anytime soon? LOL)

Anyway we left home about 9;30 and arrived back home about 2:30. I then had to take an emergency run to the ER in Beloit. Jaimie was there. She was having some issues and they were running tests to see if everything was alright. Fortunately, my mom was there to meet her until I could get there (Iwas coming from Harvard IL.). It turns out that Jaimie has not been taking care of herself very well. She was dehydrated! So they made her drink two glasses of juice and eat a full meal. They then gave her a note to say she could only work 8-10 hours a day instead of 15! And I said "AMEN!!"

I am enclosing a few pictures of the apple orchard here. I hope you enjoy them!
